Female Athletes Improving Their Game Starting With Their Mouth Guard

“Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.” This makes you think about Secret deodorant, right? Well, we’re not talking about deodorant here. We’re talking about the Pure Power Mouthguard, and more and more female athletes are using them. Not only does this guard serve as quality mouth protection, but it is helping women prevent injury, and improving their athletic abilities. Yes ladies, you read that correctly. It helps prevent injury and boosts your abilities as an athlete.

Ppm The Pure Power Mouthguard is custom made for your mouth by a neuromuscular dentist, and when properly fitted it helps align the jaw and relaxes the muscles in your face which allows for upper body strength. But it doesn’t end there. When the jaw is properly aligned the head and neck are too. The spine also becomes properly aligned as well which allows for more overall strength. Because of this total alignment women are finding that the PPM enhances their athletic performance. How? Well, we know that when playing sports most injuries occur during deceleration, when an athlete is stopping, cutting, or landing. Women using PPM have noticed that they have more balance and stability, which results in fewer injuries, and they are more agile and quicker which improves their skills. So ladies, what are you waiting for? Try the Pure Power Mouthguard, if not for the enhanced athletic ability and injury prevention, then for the superior mouth protection it offers – and get your game on.

WNBA - I just checked out their web page

The WNBA has a contest on their website sponsored by Adidas.  Submit your t-shirt design and win tickets to the end of season event, as well as possibly having Adidas print and sell your shirt.  I am thinking that we have a pretty nice baseketball design (soon to be printed in creme, heather or white..someone told me, well actually, my sister Lynne at Maxwell's Pottery, here in Portland Maine-- www.maxwellspottery.com --where we sell our shirts) ....anyway she told me that people want more colors, more choices so hopefully the basketball shirt will help with that problem.  They are still at the printers.  It's hard to find the right shirt with the right colors.

But back to the WNBA I am thinking that we sould submit our design and try to win that contest!  Send us your thoughts.  Maybe we should just keep the shirt for Be a Girl, but to have our shirt out there on those basketball courts worn by a star...ahh that makes me happy.

Also, Switch Magazine here in Portland did an article on "Stylish T's" -- hey they didn't even include us and we have great designs.  Thanks to Ken Murphy and his mighty pencil and wonderful ideas.  Our feelings are a little hurt, but who knows they may feature us at some point - which would be a highlight for us.  Back to the drawing board.  Meanwhile -- women's basketball is about to start and it's very exciting!

Ice Hockey For Women...and Girls

My friend Annie from Camden, Maine says -- what no ice hockey for women?  This 50+ year old women plays on a team, I was so jealous, well I almost went out and bought a pair of skates.  I put the thought on the back burner, but when I received this e-mail from Kelly in Connecticut, I started thinking about ice hockey again.......

From Kelly in Connecituct   ~  Hi - Lady_flames_summer_splash_2007_024x My daughter plays hockey for an all girls elite hockey team out of Connecticut.  My Lady_flames_summer_splash_2007_0351 mother has a house in Maine, and we were shopping in Portland when I came across a few of your products and your card.  My daughter and I looked up the website and was surprised that there was not a slogan for hockey.

Over the past Easter weekend, Maine hosted the New England Select hockey festival for girls aged 11 and 12.  Needless to say, it would have been a good opportunity for you to not only spread the word of yLady_flames_summer_splash_2007_0280our website to Maine, but also to Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire.

It is nice to see a website devoted to promoting girls' sports.  I hope in the future to see not not only hockey but lacrosse, as my youngest daughter, who informed me as I am writing this that I have forgotten about her, see about adding lacrosse to your site.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for promoting girls' sports.

Very truly yours,

Kelly H, proud mom of two very athletic girls

Remember.....................

Girls Are Athletes.....Not Tomboys

To which Be a Girl Today says -- thank you to Kelly, thanks for the great pictures and the wonderful comments.
